Subject:- MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP
OF MAYOR,LAHORE ON 08-12-2017 TO
OVERSEE THE SANITATION, BEAUTIFICATION AND ALLIED MEASURES IN LAHORE CITY.
The following attended
the meeting:-
Meeting
started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The meeting was chaired by
Mayor, Metropolitan Corporation, Lahore. The Chair asked the participants about
work in progress as per decisions in the previous meetings on 12 roads identified
for initial / first stage restoration and repair. The Chair further directed
the participants that pictures of maintenance / restoration sites should be
taken from the same angle. After detailed discussion following decisions are
made:-

Establishment of Model Washrooms for Ladies and
Gents
|
The Chair directed that model washrooms will be
established in different vicinities of Lahore and these shall especially be
well maintained for women. Gents entrance would be from side. Woman Sanitary
Worker would be deputed for maintenance / cleanliness in women area.

Maintenance of Roads, Pedestrian bridge,
Underpasses, Overhead bridges
|
The Chair directed that maintenance and repair of
roads would be completed at priority along with street lights. Term contract
execution would be ensured for immediate repair / restoration. Chief Minister
Punjab can visit any time. The Chair directed that restoration / repair on
these roads shall be completed within 6 week of time.
The Chair directed the participants that
following work should be done within time limit:-

Work
on pedestrian bridges / underpasses / overhead bridges.
·
Meetings
/ coordination at Zonal level with concerned agencies / responsible persons
will be ensured for timely execution of job.
·
TEPA
is directed to double enforcement for manhole covers and maintain a good
standard.
·
The
Chair directed that TEPA / LDA provide standard specification for manhole
covers to all telecom companies. The Chair further directed that in the next
meeting Mr. Ameer Ali from Deputy Commissioner Office be called regarding
above issues. The Chair further directed that a mechanism/ proposals be
submitted in the next meeting regarding payment of ground rent by Telecom
companies using the MCL property. The Chair also directed to maintain a good
quality for curb stone without being painted and proposed that natural
concrete colour can be ensured as approved by LDA.

WASA briefed upon work in progress on Ali Zeb
Road and Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. The Chair shown concern on slow pace of
work and directed to expedite work in progress as early as possible and
replace outdated infrastructure.

LESCO shown a presentation wherein work in
progress on prioritized 12 roads is briefed. The Chair directed to align the
electric poles. The Chair further directed that a reinforce base for electric
poles be standardized to coop with the problem in future.

LWMC briefed about work in progress and measures
being taken on 12 roads. The Chair directed all DCO’s to coordinate with
other agencies and point out deficiencies / problems by all departments.

DSP briefed the participants regarding
enforcement and measures being taken for parking areas. The Chair directed to
ensure coordination with traffic police and parking on one side of roads.

(Regulations) to remove all temporary and permanent encroachments along these
roads and no lethargic attitude will be tolerated.
